Leaders and technical experts from Wichita State University's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and Novacoast Federal visited the Mississippi Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) in Gulfport, MS last week.

The NIAR and Novacoast teams are collaborating on a research effort via the FirePoint Innovation Center at Wichita State. The research is focused on extending the use of Digital Engineering tools and processes into the maintenance domain. The group toured the main hangar and several back shops at the facility, while working closely with the soldiers and artisans to capture data that will be used to augment a proof-of-concept that is set for release later this year.

"We are excited to work with MS-AVCRAD to develop and demonstrate technologies that will make a positive impact on the artisans and soldiers that maintain Army Aviation fleets, said Pierre Harter, WSU associate VP of research operations and NIAR director of R&D. These technologies aim to help them perform tasks more efficiently and effectively, while also preparing them for upcoming future vertical lift (FVL) sustainment processes and digital tools."

Paul Anderson, Novacoast CEO added that "We are excited to apply our technical expertise to help bring this important initiative to life. The visit helped us refine the application's design based on the input and guidance of the maintainers. We look forward to the hands-on testing later this year for additional feedback."

Cindy Ponder, former Senior Sustainment Advisor for FVL, said, "Partnering with Wichita State and the Organic Industrial Base allows FVL to focus on a 'Bridging Strategy' for sustainment between the enduring fleet and future fleet."

Novacoast announces Apex Program—cybersecurity training for BVI and military veteran communities Apex Program charts path to professional success for underserved communities with accessible cybersecurity training and resources

WICHITA, KANSAS, January 31, 2023 — Driven by a mission to advance accessibility and inclusion for the blind, visually impaired, and military veteran populations, Novacoast announces the launch of Apex Program. The program will provide new opportunities for these underserved communities, while producing trained, certified candidates for an industry in need. To date, there is global cybersecurity workforce shortage of 3.4 million professionals.

Apex Program helps students develop the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in cybersecurity, including preparation for the CompTIA A+ and Security+ certification exam series. Apex Program is a CompTIA Partner.

The 10-week program is designed for accessibility by IT professionals who've navigated BVI and veteran realities as a part of the cybersecurity workforce. Each week focuses on a core area of IT security, and follows a defined course schedule.

Because all students learn differently, Apex Program takes a multi-format approach to instruction. Foundational cybersecurity topics are explored through informative lectures and video tutorials, then students are able to actively test their knowledge with hands-on labs and quizzes. At each step of a student's journey with Apex Program, they have access to expert instructors for additional guidance and support.

The goals of Apex Program go beyond foundational cybersecurity training with its commitment to professional placement for graduating students. "It's a complete approach to technical training that reflects the standards we've set at Novacoast," states Novacoast CEO, Paul Anderson. Anderson explains, "We've discovered, when you fuel peoples' potential with opportunities to learn and thrive, you fuel their future."

Speaking of the organization's dedication to supporting students' complete educational journey, Program Director, David Mayne, states, "We are honored to be able to help students realize their capability with the promise of placement." Mayne goes on to explain, "Cybersecurity is a $173.8 billion industry with over 3 million job openings—with our commitment to actively guiding employment for Apex graduates, the program will help to meet that demand with qualified, skilled professionals."

In support of its bold mission, Novacoast hired former President and CEO of the American Foundation for the Blind, Kirk Adams. Joining Apex to lead sales, Adams states, "I have dedicated my professional career to creating employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired, and can attest to a crying need for relevant technical training." Adams explains, "Our community, among other underrepresented groups, offers extraordinary capabilities in IT security—our potential has not yet been fully realized. This changes with the launch of Apex Program."

Novacoast, a Cybersecurity, Identity and Access company specializing in managed security, engineering, development, and advisory, announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Wichita, KS, effective July 29th, 2022.

"We've been impressed with Wichita. One year ago, we expanded our presence to the area, and we've come to realize the incredible potential in the city and its people. This is where we want to grow our company, and officially naming Wichita as our global headquarters is the next natural step", said Paul Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, Novacoast Inc. "Senator Moran, Mayor Whipple, the Governor's office, and The Greater Wichita Partnership have been so welcoming and accommodating that it made the decision easy."

"I'm thrilled that Novacoast has chosen to relocate their global headquarters to Wichita," Governor Laura Kelly said. "Kansas continues to be a hub for cybersecurity companies and Novacoast's critical cybersecurity expertise will continue to protect not only Kansans but industries and businesses across the globe."

Wichita is already a key location for Novacoast. The company currently occupies 9,700 sq ft in the downtown Epic Center, employing approximately 40 employees in software cybersecurity engineering, software development, and sales. With the help of the Greater Wichita Partnership, Novacoast has built key relationships to facilitate recruitment from the Air National Guard at McConnell Air Force Base; education partners, including Wichita State University, Friends University, and Butler Community College; and Envision, Inc. a blind and visually impaired (BVI) workforce innovation center.

"Our employees will always come first at Novacoast", says Anderson. "Wichita provides the opportunity for Novacoast employees to access a higher quality of life and a reasonable cost of living. With Kansas' rapid economic growth, we are committed to adding a total of 100 new technology jobs within the state, and lead the way in making Wichita a cybersecurity training center."

"Novacoast's decision to move their headquarters to Kansas is further validation that Kansas is the nation's best place to do business," Lieutenant Governor and Commerce Secretary Toland said. "The new jobs and training opportunities in advanced cybersecurity that will be provided by Novacoast reinforce our state's position as an innovation leader."

"We plan on greatly increasing our presence in Wichita." says Janice Newlon, President of Novacoast, Inc. "As a part of our commitment to the area, we want to give back. At Novacoast, we believe one of the best ways to empower people is through education. Our commitment to the state of Kansas exemplifies this belief, with programs supporting the BVI and Veterans community, and for all those seeking to start a career in cybersecurity."
Novacoast's Eron Howard Appointed Chief Operating Officer/novacoast-eron-howard-appointed-chief-operating-officer/2022-03-14T13:36:19+00:002022-03-14T13:36:19+00:00srolens
Santa Barbara, CA, 03/14/22 — Novacoast, a Cybersecurity and Identity & Access company specializing in managed security, engineering, development, and advisory, announced that their former Chief Delivery Officer, Eron Howard, has been appointed as...

Santa Barbara, CA, 03/14/22 — Novacoast, a Cybersecurity and Identity & Access company specializing in managed security, engineering, development, and advisory, announced that their former Chief Delivery Officer, Eron Howard, has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer.
Novacoast Expands its Partnership Portfolio with Fidelis Cybersecurity London

Novacoast, a global provider of security solutions through custom integrations in Security Intelligence and Response, today announced a strategic partnership with Fidelis Cybersecurity, allowing Novacoast to offer its Fidelis Elevate Active XDR and Halo Cloud security solutions to enable proactive cyber defence. Together, Novacoast and Fidelis Cybersecurity support a global network of Security Operations Centers enabled to deliver comprehensive managed security services to organisations of all sizes.

“Today’s threat actors are more sophisticated, IT environments are more complex, security stacks are dynamic, and existing security teams are overwhelmed,” said Ivan Dolenski, Senior Vice president, International Sales, Fidelis Cybersecurity. “Today, the consequences of a breach are painfully more profound and expensive. Working together, Fidelis and Novacoast see huge opportunity to help organizations detect, respond and neutralize threats earlier in the attack lifecycle – and before they impact business operations.” Fidelis Cybersecurity provides proactive cyber security and defence-in-depth with its Fidelis Elevate and Fidelis CloudPassage Halo platforms. Fidelis improves the velocity of detection and response by providing visibility and context across the entire cyber terrain. SOC analysts can quickly detect and block attacks, perform deep inspection/analysis of the environment to assess whether any systems have been compromised, and return impacted systems to normal business operations as quickly as possible. This boosts security team efficiency and hardens the security posture.

Fidelis Elevate delivers the industry’s only eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) solution purpose-built for proactive cyber defence to help security teams worldwide more quickly detect, respond, and neutralize threats across the IT landscape. Fidelis Elevate is an Active XDR platform that unifies deception technologies with detection and response across endpoint, network, and cloud. Integrated deception technologies enable users re-shape the network attack surface and gives SOC teams the necessary tools to stop threats before they stop business.

Fidelis Halo is a comprehensive cloud security platform that unifies and automates cybersecurity and maintains continuous compliance across IaaS, PaaS, servers, and containers. This fast, scalable, and cost-effective platform work seamlessly across any mix of public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, and ensures security is present from the moment new infrastructure is deployed so security teams can keep up with the cloud-speed of digital transformation.

“Our partnership with Fidelis Cybersecurity combines Novacoast’s 25 years of deep security expertise with an advanced technology suite that empowers our customers to defeat adversarial actors before they can cause harm in the enterprise,” said Katie McAuliff, Vice President of Europe for Novacoast. “As we witness daily from our six global Security Operations Centers, enterprises are at a disadvantage against their cyber adversaries. Threats come from every angle and many organizations lack complete visibility of their cyber terrain, allowing cyber attackers to lurk undetected. Together Fidelis Cybersecurity and Novacoast will anticipate and then fight these cyber attackers with automation, detection, response and remediation.”

Novacoast is thrilled to be joining with SEMplicity and begin working with their experienced engineers to enhance Novacoast’s SIEM development capabilities.

Novacoast CEO Paul Anderson says this gaining of SEMplicity will allow Novacoast to continually grow and develop its offerings in the cybersecurity industry. “Adding these exceptional people to Novacoast makes this a very special day for us,” says Anderson. “I was referred to SEMplicity by Micro Focus, they had a terrific reputation for services around SIEM deployment and managed services, as well as a deep expertise in custom development.”

George Boitano, a cybersecurity software developer and founder of SEMplicity, is excited to be joining with Novacoast, a company that values customer success as much as they do. “After being introduced to Novacoast nine months ago through a reach-out from Janice (Newlon), I was intrigued with the idea of joining forces,” he says, “After talking with Paul, I quickly realized Novacoast’s core value is the success of the customer, which is also SEMplicity’s goal for each and every company we work with.
We’re happy to say that Novacoast has been named as one of the top 250 Managed Security Service Providers by MSSP Alert. The rankings are based on MSSP Alert’s [http://www.msspalert.com] 2020 readership survey, combined with the digital media site’s global editorial coverage of managed security services providers.

We’re proud to have had our expanding offerings and client base recognized. We always are. It’s been a big year for Novacoast, particularly for our global SOC network that provides managed security to so many.

“It’s incredible to see how our managed services group has evolved over such a short period of time,” says our CEO Paul Anderson.

In the past few years, Novacoast went from augmenting our staff so they could build SOCs for some of the top global financial organizations, to building our own SOC, to now operating four SOCs in 3 different countries and supporting some of the largest organizations in the world.

“I’m proud of our team ranking 33rd in our first showing,” said Anderson. “With our aggressive acquisitions and our new Cloud SOC offering, novaSOC, we hope to continue to climb up the ranks and provide the most value to our customers.”

It’s especially gratifying to be honored in a year of turmoil for this (and every other) industry.

“After Nines Inc. and MSSP Alert congratulate Novacoast on this year’s honor,” said Amy Katz, CEO of After Nines Inc. “Despite the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s honorees continue to accelerate their businesses, mitigate customer risk and safeguard digital assets worldwide.”

Novacoast takes our mission seriously as a leading cybersecurity advisory resource—to analyze emerging challenges and develop solutions ahead of demand. As our CEO Paul Anderson says: “We work to have an answer ready before we’ve been asked.”

When Novacoast identified a new and growing need for centralized, expert Security Operations resources, we worked to think ahead. “We decided on a model that would give the customer the opportunity to stay in the loop and own their data,” says Anderson. “We wanted to provide scalable, powerful options that wouldn’t hold customers hostage with anything too proprietary on our side.”

This is the mindset that continues to push us to make vital SOC monitoring and analysis available to everyone who needs it. This year, we launched our cloud-based novaSOC offering. “We have big plans for it,” says Anderson.

novaSOC combines automatic collection of endpoint data and complex correlation with threat intelligence sources with expert analysis and reporting—making a powerful layer of responsive security monitoring available to everyone, even organizations who lack the appetite for more traditionally comprehensive managed security.

“We worked hard to build the best Managed Security option out there,” said Anderson. “Now we’re working hard to put it in reach for everyone.”
